Headlight Replacement '02 TL

I was coming home from work in the rain when a deer jumped out into the middle of the road and did the whole "DURRRRR" sudden-stop thing. I managed to swerve mostly out of the way, but in the midst of this action, the deer then decided to start moving again and hurled it's moronic head into the side of my car, cracking the glass on the driver's side headlight.

The headlight worked fine for a few miles, but I knew that water must have been getting into the casing and it would soon short.

It did. Also, when this happened, the highbeams light flickered for a few miles. I guess that means it was shorting, but I didn't know if that indicated more serious damage beyond the headlight.

I've never had a vehicle with these types of headlights. So I went to the Honda dealership down the road and the guy priced me $600 to fully replace the casing. I don't think I've ever laughed in someone's face that hard in my life.

So anyway, I'm looking through some of the used parts sites and was wondering what all I would need for this procedure. My fiance's dad owns a dealership, though I haven't talked to him about it, she said he would fix it for free if I had the parts.

Any suggestions on where to find these items? What all would I need for this? Just the bulb and the headlight? The item listings are all kind of weird. Some say "headlight, bulb not included" others don't say anything.

the housings are only that- the plastic back and lens
everything else has to be transferred over
we have HID low beams
your best bet is a set of new aftermarket housings off ebay for about 200 a set of 2
they make blacked out and cleared versions for some extra bling

your ballast and other parts are suffering the same fate as many of us, moisture leaks into headlight causes water drips onto electrical parts and failure

Get a complete HID kit from a place like our sponsor www.hidextra.com
has all the parts for both sides of the lights and new bulbs,,sale prices vary but under 100 USD for everything is normal
suggest 5000K color for better than stock

get 1 relay kit with it, for improved power to the lights

sorry to hear that man!! well, here's the link for new replacement driver side headlight $75.53 you should replace your ballast because water might have damaged it along with the bulb. also get an aftermarket hid kit along with 5000k bulbs which are best in my opinion and make sure to replace them in pairs...

check out my post under "moisture in headlight" if you get new headlight housings, seal everything up to help prevent moisture from damaging the ballast
