when i turn on my lights both light up. after 10-15 seconds, the right one starts changing color do a dim purple/pink. after 30-60 seconds it cuts off. does anyone have any ideas? is it the bulb? ballast?

 

i think its just the bulb's usage. some bulbs wear differently than the one in the other headlight.

 

The best thing to do first is to swap your bulbs. If it still went out, then you know it is the ballast.

 

The best thing to do is swap in the good bulb and see if it works or not. if it does then its your bulb, if it still doesnt its your balast. This way is free to figure out!

 

No one can ever be sure about these things without doing the bulb swap test. It could be a dying bulb, or it could be the ballast not sustaining proper power to the bulb.

ok. yeah. fantastic! it's only the bulb. Got one for $127 @ the dealer. i knew the inverter/ballast/whatever is expensive, but when i stopped by the dealership for the bulb and asked just how much it was, they told me $470... SO i'm glad it's only the bulb. thanks.

 

Now they won't match.

Do you ever notice that the right side bulb is not as bright as the left side? I was reading on a prev post somewhere on this site that the car is designed that way to reduce the glare of oncoming traffice. How true is this?

I bought a set of 6000k almost a year ago and the left side is cool white and the right side is the same color but from a distance it looks more purple than white. It looks like the headlidht needs to be adjusted, but I never messed with it so I dont know what the deal is with that. Can someone help me out w/this one?
