Headlight for 2001 3.2 TL
I have a good used set, left and right headlight assemblies without the bulbs or HID high voltage unit, that I took off my 2000 3.2 TL. Let me know if you're interested in them. I think they will fit your 2001.
Replacing the headlight assembly is not that easy. First disconnect the battery. Then remove the fasteners that hold two plastic pieces: The sides of the front bumper facia and the radiator cover. Once removed, you have access to the side bolts that hold the headlight assembly, then remove the two top two bolts and the assembly pulls right out. Be careful if removing and installing the bulb and the 25,000 volt HID unit. The onlyy go in the assembly one way. You'll have to buy these separate as they do not come with headlight assembly unless you buy it from the Acura dealer or from a salvage yard.
Replacing is the reverse of removing. You'll have to adjust and aim the headlight after installation using the small phillips head gears behind the HID unit. If you're not comfortable doing it yourself, take it to a professional.

I replaced my headlights. I don't think its difficult at all. If I remember the unit, it's an 80V open circuit unit with a 10 or 20kv igniter. When the lamp is off it shows infinite resistance so the striker ramps up the voltage until it's high enough to arc which lights the lamp....then the resistance is significantly lower so it bypasses the igniter.
Regardless, I took the radiator cover off, removed the 8 zillion clips, took out the 4 screws, yanked the bumper off, removed the screws on the side/top of the assembly, then removed the center bolt for the metal piece which holds the bottom of the assembly in (because it was easier to manipulate the assemblies). There's a DIY that's linked from here if you search.
Took an hour...and that was simply because I was troubleshooting something else.
