Headlight Adjustment

2000 TL-P
Seems like the headlights are pointed way too low, can see at night, but they shine about where fog lights should be aimed. Looked around & didn't see anywhere to adjust them up/down, only saw an adjustment knob for L/R.

look again at top of housing for Up- Down, and on the back of the housing is a V shaped groove- see it? ok take a short + screwdriver and slide it down the groove track- angle tool as needed to get down to the top gear of the adjuster

the + tip fits the gear teeth- so you are now a top gear- twist the screwdriver in the correct direction to reset lights. make take a few to several turns

Did you lower the car or it needs shocks?

do NOT try to turn the nut on back of gear
ck diy again and search headlight adjustment for exact setting on height of lights

Thanks, no mods to it, yet, just bought it last week and they seem to be adjusted really low for some reason.

probably weak struts- as they drop slightly the lights do too~

I have adjusted lights on cars that needed shocks and customer wasnt able to do yet- so give them light to see by until they can..

or it was hit in the front and not reset properly

ck the diy for how to set exact- with brightest spot at certain height against a wall

these lights are super bright to oncoming traffic- setting them right is important

your bulbs may go soon too- its time- 2500 hours of use = they weaken and change color- eventually, momentary pink color at startup is the death warning

New bulbs, never wrecked. Was a 1 owner car before I bought it. Guy was meticulous in maintaining it.

thats all good news for sure!

so read the diy and have at it--you may have different tires than stock changed height, and the normal lowering of springs as car ages is likely

once you see the groove and know its actually the slider into the adjuster--
