My maint required light is on, I have an obd-ll scanner but when I connect it, it tells me the (mil) is off does anybody know what that is ??

 

MIL stands for "Malfunction Indicator Light" so its basically saying you dont have a Check Engine ON light?

 

Maintenance required light is just a oil change reminder light. Start's flashing when you start the car at 5000 miles. Stays on when you hit 7500 miles.

Get your oil changed, and remind them to reset the light. Or do it yourself.

 

The OBDII port should not give a hint of the Maintenance Required Light, Also that is not even connected to the ECU its part of the dashboard system.

MIL in this case on the OBDII port its for the Malfunction Indicator Light which in MANYYY scanners means the Check Engine Light.
