head light

Just went through this. Water dripped into ballast and blew fuse for left headlight located under hood. It also blew the fog light fuse inside the car on the drivers side. I had to replace the ballast and reseal the headlight, bulb and igniter still worked. Easiest way to trouble shoot is work with side that you know is working and try to figure out which parts work and which ones don't. Ballast is the expensive part if it needs to be replaced. Careful ....HIGH VOLTAGE!

dont bother with OE parts for this job
get a full replacement HID kit, 2 ballast- ignitors- and bulbs,, for well under 100 bucks up to 300 depending on how much markup you like to pay
once moisture is in the housing its going to eventually damage the ballast when it drips on it and gets past a weak seal
must reseal housing or replace them (ebay),,or at least install the new ballast kit which is waterproof (and mounts to a different area-frame rail where its safer)- unlike the OE units

HID Replacement
This place sells replacement HID bulbs & ballast for a fraction of the OEM's price:

The guy I dealt with is Nate , & he is a very pleasant guy to talk with.
Their phone is: 614-653-3451
By the way, ballast are in the price range of $110+ a pair (Morimoto brand) & Philips Brand bulbs 85126+ D2R are $95 a pair. Definitely way cheaper than what the dealers are gouging us for

sometimes name brand is important for quality,
sometimes the no name unit is made on the same assembly line!!
