So since i did the 3000k hid upgrade a few weeks ago, i wanted to be able to control the fogs without the headlights on. So i finnaly got all the pieces together and did the quick fog light 2.0 mod. Everything works the way it should, fogs can be on with no lights, park or headlights. Great.

So i went to drive it into the garage and noticed that now both SRS light is on solid red and the check engine light is on. So i shut it off. And disconnected the battery again to see if it would clear. The check engine light cleared, but the SRS still stays on solid red.

Is this just a coincidence, or did i fry something doing the 2.0 mod?

Any help would be great before i call the dealer for an appointment.

reset the SRS light and see if it comes back. Do a search on SRS light reset

 

Yea I tried that SRS light reset and it didnt fix mine. I had to take it in and get the OPDS system changed. Good thing it was under the extented warranty. But that SRS reset is so Easy. It was on one of my threads about the SRS. Check it out.

did the srs reset, thx for the link and to the one who did that dyi. Light went off. We'll see if it comes back on. I hope not. I'm thinking maybe it had something to do with the fact that i had to start the car and drive it into the garage cause of the rain yesterday, and when i started it and drove it into the garage i had the accessory fuse pulled, number 9. That might have cause d the srs to go on . Just a theory.

I had the same problem when i pulled the fuse with the key in the car. I had that problem when I pulled the dash fuse not the acc. The acc i've done before with no problems. I reset it and it hasnt come back since i wrote the diy. i should put that little note on there i guess.

I was just as worried as you, disconnected the battery and the CEL went away but not the SRS. Had to reset the SRS as per that link
