Flickering HID lowbeams = dying bulbs?
Flickering HID lowbeams = dying bulbs?
2 years ago I replaced the bulbs for my HID lowbeam headlights with a set of Kaixens. Now they are flickering. Some times when I drive over rough road (gravel), sometimes when I turn a corner, or sometimes when I just turn on the headlights. It started off with the passenger side headlight flcikering but now both the passenger and driver side headlight doing it. Occassionally the passenger side headlight (and rarely both) as gone out. When I turn the headlights off and then on again they both come back on.
I know that the dreaded "pink eye" is sign that they are failing. Is flickering another sign?
Do the bulbs need to be replaced? I checked the fuses and they are fine. I had read here that some folks were having the same issue and that a faulty ballast was the cause, however, I replaced the passenger side ballast and it didn't solve the problem.

It is your ballast that is going bad. Mine did the same thing after 6 years(I couldn't believe that they lasted so long). It might be because you only replaced one ballast. You should do both.
