Hi everyone,

I recently got an '02 TLS and I'm new to the forum. I really don't know much about cars, but I'm looking forward to learning. Anyways, a few small issues with the TL. The most important, which I did find a thread on here talking about, is that the driver side low beam has moisture in the lens and does not work. I saw that replacing a few of the seals fixes the problem, so I plan on doing that. The other issues are mainly cosmetic. The driver side window will only go down and come up if I hold it. It's suppose to be auto (which I'm sure everyone knows). I checked the fuses and there's nothing wrong with them. Also, the rear right lock on the door does not always work. I usually have to manually open and close it myself. The last question I have is about the door panel. The clips holding the panel on are broken. Where could I find clips to replace the broken ones and have an idea to the other small issues? Thanks!

 

Hey H_H, the low beam not working will require further investigation. Check out the HID components (ballast/inverter) and wiring connector. If moisture or corrosion is present, you may need to replace some things. Try a known good bulb first.

The window may need to be looked at closer, with the interior trim panel removed, check and lube the regulator tracks for the window. Maybe the ^ switch ?

The door lock knob should work freely by hand, pull the panel off and check the rod mechanisms for that door lock. Could need lubricated if sticking, otherwise may be the actuator ?
