fan turns on when car is off
SO here is the deal.... started testing TL post tranny change...
i turned on all electrical and heater.. fans went on.. i saw temp. meter go up a bit (abnormal)... i turned the car off but the small fan kept going.
turned car on after a while... small fan went off but alas! when car is off, it goes on and STAYS ON.
anti-freeze level seems a bit low but still there, you think its that or could it be something else? its the weirdest thing ever.

Fan sensor relay is probably bad- it happened to another member last week
Also have cooling system pressure tested after checking radiator cap for seal damage
Should never be loss of fluid
How many miles/year/model
Maybe its ready for a water pump/hoses if over 100 thousand miles

Thats really low miles for an 01 maybe it just corroded, common- cheap part easy fix
The antifreeze only helps lower the freeze point and raise the boiling point
It can be tested for correct dilution
Since you report increased temp reading I suggest looking at the cap- a common cause of coolant loss and if not tight it wont create the right pressure
The trans change is not related- cars sometimes need attention and come in 3s. You got a trans, fix the fan- so 3 should be Seafoam treatment- will make car run way better for $15

Not wierd at all, it is supposed to cool the engine down after shut off if needed
If getting a bad signal that engine still hot, it will run all night if you let it

Another reason to always check the car after "service" and do what you can at home~
Every fluid level should be verified by you and tire pressures and lug torque!!!
In flying we say the MOST dangerous flight, is the first one after maintenance!!
It easy to do a coolant flush and fill if you want to make sure the dilution is correct- too little or too much coolant vs water is a bad thing too. Looking for 50/50 mix for most of us. Canada in the winter is another story
Now just do the Seafoam engine treatment and really enjoy your new trans
Glad it was a simple fix at least
