external transmission filter
Wuz up guys,
I going to get the external filter from the acura, but I have some question?
Do I need anything else beside the filter and O ring?
What do I need to remove the filter?
thanks,
I didnn't even know that we have an external filter for our tranny.

If someone will do a pic set of the parts, tools and labor,,then it will suit the DIY threads
We need those written for the newest noob to be able to follow and do
then everyone can follow it~
Put it together and send to kris or other senior mod--they forward it around the mods and gurus of that subject for review, correctness, add info etc.
then post to the DIY list
thanks to anyone up for the challenge

You need to remove the battery and tray, and also the silly plastic thing hanging down from the air intake (it's clamped to the air intake so a 10mm socket and 1/4" drive ratchet will take care of that). To remove the 4 bolts holding the clamp over the filter you need an "offset" wrench (10mm if I recall). You will not be able to get in there with a normal box or open end wrench. Note where the 4 bolts came from. They are different lengths and you don't want to forget how they get reinstalled. My o ring was fine. Saving it for the next filter change at 125,000 miles.
