Is this even a B7WA transmission?

Hey guys, so long story short I have my 2001 Acura TL-p transmission "fixed" by a hack who took my money... Gotta sue to get paid back, but that is another story...

To get my car "fixed" I have decided to get a remanufactured transmission installed by ETE.

Now, to do that I have to have a "core", ie, the transmission they take out.

Well, as it stands I was going to swap back from the "external oil cooler" configuration to the stock "ATF Heater" configuration. Well, lo-and-behold it looks like a totally different transmission was installed, as the external "plate" and filter setup is totally different, and if I unbolt that I have no place to spin-on the stock filter for a 2001 Acura TL. I mean I had no idea that any other model had the power steering connection the -p models require.

Can anyone identify the transmission I have?

Here is a pic from above of what I have:

I mean is there a different "adapter plate" that is used in the place of the external cooler adapter that accepts the spin-on oil filter?

Seems like there is a host of models that have similar transmissions. I just need to be able to get my car fixed and a $600 core charge because the guy stole my core is kinda crazy.

He never mentioned putting a different transmission in, he was only going to rebuild mine and add an external cooler. I figured he was just going to tap into the hose in the back and use a couple of right angle connections and put the cooler in there, but it looks like he possibly put a different case (which means totally different internals as well) in my car. ARGH!!!

I went out and looked and it seems as if that plate with the built-in filter is a swappable adapter plate. Looks like there is the one that the B7WA had which is only for the ATF Heater and uses the spin-on filter and a pipe that bolts to the bracket on the end, and then the one I have which has a replaceable filter element in it that has extra connections for a radiator-based heater/cooler without provisions for the small ATF Heater. There is a third I found a picture of that uses the ATF Heater and also has a replaceable element.

Sad part is I can't find a listing anywhere for the darn adapters. You need to know which car each comes on and then go grab one of those as a pick-and-pull... What a PITA!

From everything I have read, having an external cooler won't save the B7WA transmissions. And having an external cooler without a heater is questionable in sub-zero temp areas (like SE Wisconsin where I live).

Ugh...

OK, figured out the part I need is called a Passage Body and has a part number of 25801-P7W-A00.

That and the gasket will have to be ordered as well.

Found out that they can deny a core charge because standard accessories like that are missing.

So, I ordered up all the various brackets, bolts, o-rings and sleeves... Total came to $150 with shipping.

After I buy a filter and with the bracket I am looking at about $190 total to convert back to "stock". UGH!

There's only one way to tell which transmission it is, there should be a label on the front.

From what I see: the atf cooler pipe leads me to believe it's a transmission from a Honda Odyssey, but the cartridge filter being newer than the spin on, would suggest it to be a newer style probably a BGRA found in the 05-06 oddy?
