Error Codes I Don't Understand
I had trhe codes read and came up with the following:
A.B.S. Codes 12 Right Front Wheel Speed Sensor Failure
31 PFINCH Failure
34 Throttle Position Sensor Reference Voltage Failure
36 Throttle Position Sensor Failure
Had the codes read to source problem with noise in front of car, turned out to be ABS Sensor, problem solved.... Reset Computer, ok.
However, the check engine light was on before this, and has been on for a long time, and is still on. No real performance issues, however I am about to trade my car and I wanted to fix the check engine light now.
The problem is the codes listed above do not match the traditional "PF....." Codes... Can someone help me determine if the "31 PFINCH Failure" could be emission related, and if so, where should I start to try and located the source of teh problem??
I am typing directl;y from the printout the mechanic gave me at an reputable garage... (Hey, he was right about the ABS sensor...)
Any help would be greatly appreciatted...
Thanks....

I have seen throttle bodies fail recently
You need an actual diagnosis- codes are clues--- not solutions
The Dealer has a code reader that is smarter that what is sold on the street or to mechanics
When you reset the computer after abs fix- did you disconnect battery NEG cable or pull the clock fuse in passenger footwell? that will do an ECU reset and should clear the light-
if t comes back, get the codes read again
It wont pass smog inspection with that light on, and it wont even allow a smog test if battery disconnected just before testing- it knows there is somethng funky happening and wont allow code release or whatever for the computers to talk

Well for starters those arent factory codes. Where did you get them from?
The throttle codes, if it is right is the throttle position sensor(as the code is showing) you will need to replace the whole throttle body. (look for a used one. Much cheaper)
Get the codes reread by someone who will give you actual codes and we can help better

Thanks guys.
I disconnected the negtive cable to reset the CPU, and the light came back on.... I'll have to read the codes again...Last time it costs $50 just to ave them read.... and they were the cheapest I could find...
The light has been on for over a year now, and it passed an emissions test after it was on (Ontario, Canada)...
The codes came from a garage which specalised in Foreign cars.... I refused to go back to the dealership in Ottawa after a couple of visits, but that is another story...
I'll get the codes read elsewhere and report back...

It would really help if you guys would mention that, if its not on your avatar.
So many things are different than what we are used to.
