cant believe some people are complaining im getting 250 sometimes 280 to the tank on my tl-s and i thought it was pretty good. i floor it 3 to 4 times a day. drive city a lot. so yeah 250-280 for me is great. the most i ever got was about 400 because that week i was driving about 95% hwy. approx. 60miles a day hwy and about 10miles city. also 90% of the time im driving sequential. mastered the shifting. chirp it easily into 2nd.

you know what? just use 87 and when you hit 100,000miles use the seafoam and you should be fine. i got more power now because i used the seafoam. after using the seafoam change the plugs and thats it. i used it at 59,000 miles and now im at 78k and everything is fine no power loss.

Have you ever calculated your MPG? Maybe you'd get better MPG with a higher octane fuel.

What! That's about a 15% improvement in fuel mileage.

My gas mileage is not too bad. i mean considering it is a V6. i filled up today and i put in $27 on little less than half tank got about 174 miles out of that. im paying $3.19 a gallon here in vegas i usually fill up every half tank. but i guess it depends on if its a Type S or Premium. i always pay for 91+ cause i dont like that lag or terrible throttle response. I loved it when i used 91+ and the Prestone Complete Fuel injector cleaner its a silver chem plastic bottle with a blue label on it from walmart. i actually seen an increase in gas mileage from that.for some odd reason even better throttle response as well. it felt more peppy. i know some dont believe in additives since they usually dont work. but for some reason this one worked. its so much better than some of the other additives i used in the past. try it out and see if that helps. go to about 1/4 tank and fill with 91+ and see how you like it and if that might increase your mileage. it could be the injectors are dirty. i know back home in hawaii we only filled up at certain stations cause the old stations had tanks that were pretty old and use to have some dirty deposits in the tanks so it use to clog the fuel system. so it might be the pump you are going too that might have crappy tanks in the ground if they dont maintain them. i only fill at chevron. so they are sprouting up like crazy here in vegas. but try out that fuel system cleaner by prestone cost like $5 or $6 see if it helps.

winter time is upon us. are you in a 4 seasons state? winter blended fuel is rolling out and effects mileage.

this car is the biggest pain in the arse when it comes to gasmileage... ive had many of the same problems with major changes in mpgs... the same drive most of the summer i was getting about 315-330 and then it dropped to about 280-300.. not a big difference but it was a difference that i did notice... now ive been in AZ for a bit doing all hw driving and its still blow 300.. wtf is wrong with this picture...

I regularly do seafoam, plugs, and all that good stuff...I get 325-340 mpt EVERY time I fill up, city, and if I drive solely highway on roadtrips I am at the 400 mpt mark, again, every time.
I use "trip b" every time I fill up to see exactly where I'm at as far as mileage goes.

You know why? All the carbon build up you now have from using shitty fuel wont show a difference with 1 tank of premium. I bet if you used sea foam as instructed, change oil with 0w-20, and then run a tank of 91+. You'll def see a difference. Don't think so? Prove us wrong . If you use 87-89 to save money you realize you save only 2 bucks max per tank compared to 91+. Are times really that hard? BTW you cant base technology changes of newer motors to your running 9.8 to 1 compression. It's about fuel mapping and other variables. My 98 Prelude SH 10:1 used premium only fuel. Integra GS-R 10:1 the same where newer more efficient motors like my 08 Accord 10.5:1 compression took 87 while revving higher than your TL (7100rpm). Fuel injection processes are also a big thing. Direct injection uses 87 with compression 11:1 plus so there are many variables. So do Sea Foam or Fuel injection treatment an do the math and see what you get after 2 full tanks of running premium. Like another member said, fill tank, clear trip computer. At next fill-up, fill full and see how much fuel went in. divide that number by how many miles u drove and thats the true mpg on that tank,

1, 16 oz can of seafoam to 8 gallons fuel--just under half a tank
drive normal to fun~ to push cleaner thru the system
Especially good results if a 30 minute drive can be part of the process
then run a 2nd can thru half a tank,, and future tanks will increase mileage

maitenance dose is 1 oz per gal fuel or 1 can to just under full tank
thats good at oil change time midyear/5000-7500 miles to keep things clean
Makes a big differance

if your spark plugs are near 70kmiles its time for new NGK Iridiums

everyone ck tire pressures- winter temps lower pressure inside the tire!!

my guess is that you are using fuel with 10% ethanol, and or are also using a winter blend fuel. My mileage has tanked now that the temps have dropped and i am stuck using the winter blend. (which happens every year) 10%ethanol alone for me is good for a 60 mile per tank drop in over all mileage (hwy)

If your's does, then use premium - but you won't hurt it by using regular.
what you don't see and you won't until it's too late is all the extra carbon deposits on the valves and in the combustion chamber that regular 87 octane leaves.

Now I regulary get better milage out of a tank of gas with a mix of intown driving as well as highway driving than what you're getting and when I head to Ft Myer's in a couple weeks I'll be getting over 550 miles on a tank of premium gas with 100% highway driving so that'll be two fill-ups along the way.

rcb- run seafoam before and during first tank on trip- pays for itself

Everyone who dislikes that crud 10% E gas, get ready for bad news-
Obama decided cars can run on 15%E !!!!! so that going to be the new standard,,
for cars made after 2006 iirc (subject to govt changes)

I can just see the gas station problems --umm what gas do I need??
will they make another nozzle like diesel- so the e15 only goes into newest cars,,but those already on the road wont have a restrictor..
Oh!! lets have a nationwide change to that,,
I remember that plate from the switch to no lead gas, and you had to install a plate in the gas cap inlet or it wont pass inspection
