engine mount broken on 99 TL

Has any one ever broke one of there engne mounts?

Yesturday i brought my car to a shop to get the oil changed and they said they noticed one of my engine mounts is broken so they ordered the part form acura and are fixing it to day

So basicaly the guy said the reason engien mounts break is from fast accelerations and steping on the gass pedal to hard goosing it.

this is lame why would honda make that part so easy to weak ?

$90 bucks for the mount and $90 to get it instauled

Front and side engine mounts typically last about 60K

Do a search and you will find some (me too) have filled the gaps with sealant to prolong the life

Lol, same here, 99-tlp, my rear engine mount was broken. Found out during the acura courtesy week 45 point inspection for free. Scary to watch when shifting reverse/drive, engine looks like its bout to jump off the bay, even shaking the radiator! anyways, it was fixed for $114 +tax, enjoyed an 07 tl with just 3k miles while mine was checked in.

Got my car back from the dealership on Saturday. Got all 5 of my mounts changed out (front, side, rear, front tranny, and rear tranny). Amazing difference before they were changed out. The car starts up really smooth and drives really smooth...hardly feel the shift shock.

Just found out today that the engine mounts on my 2000 TL are broken. Doesn't this seem a little strange for a car of this age (or of any age, for that matter) to have broken engine mounts?

No. Its very common and a normal issue. Buy them and take it to a independent mechanic. It will be alot cheaper

I had my 2003 in at the dealer for an oil change as well and was told i had one broken mount and another cracked one. They quoted me $750 to fix them. I have never got estimates for this before but it seems quite excessive. Any thoughts?

Thats very excessive. Clik on the link i posted above and order the ones needed. Then find a independent mechanic and have them replace it (or do it yourself, its pretty easy)
