Does the pipe kit for the egr pertain to the 2001 TL as it does for the 1999 TL. My CEL came on and the code was for the egr valve to be replaced and the system to be cleaned out. I replaced the egr valve but didn't clean the hole system out and of course my CEL is still on.

I belive the bulletin pertains to 99 TL's with in certain vin range but that doesnt mean your TL doesnt need the same repair. If the valve was replaced I assume the light was reset. Your post doesnt specify wether it was or wasnt. Just so you know it will not reset itself after replacing the valve (im sure you know that).
One of the things that is normally recommended additional to the egr pipe kit replacement is a induction service, you might want to consider doing that aswell.

The light was reset but it came back on a few miles down the road.
