Driver side headlight shuts off... need help
hey
my driver side headlight keeps shutting off by itself after about 2 minutes. i have to shut off the headlights and turn them back on for it to come back on but it keeps turning off after about 2 min. what can it be? the bulbs are aftermarket 8000k but they seem like they have more life to them.
im going to try and reinstall it incase something is loose. ne other suggestions?
thanks
mike

my 2 bulbs are a lil different in color but its been that way for last 2 months now. the one shutting off is a real clear bright blue where as my pass side is a more purple. this problem started yesterday since my boy who is a cop pulled me over to let me know. lol

Have you try to switch the bulb? The one on passenger side will switch to the driver side and vise versa. If the same bulb keep shuting off again, then the bulb is toasted.

it will eventually burn out, just buy new bulbs. check your ballasts too and make sure nothing is wrong. best way to figure that out is just switch the bulbs if the same thing happens u know its the bulb and not the ballast

Solution: don't buy CRAP AFTERMARKET BULBS! Go with stock 4100/4300K, or Philips 6000K like I did for my Bimmer. Those are the only two colors that major manufacturers such as Philips produce, and they are the highest quality. They also output they most light, and give you the best depth perception. Going higher is silly.

Well, 2.5 years isn't too bad i suppose, you made it sound like shorter. But still, the aftermarket quality isn't anywhere near OEM, and perhaps the main reason they go so quickly is that they overheat due to a tinted covering.
