Hello All - I'm new here, and just purchased an 02' TL-S with 99k miles.

Love it so far, just a few small problems. When the drivers side front door is open, the dome light will not come on, and the door ajar indicator does not light up.

I confirmed all other doors work with no issue, and assume it's a bad sensor in the door. Problem is, I can't seem to locate the part. Any suggestions?

Sorta appears to be a bad switch for the driver's door.....if all the others work ok.
It's located in the middle of the center post, right below the latch's striker.....black rubber thingy.

 

Thanks for the quick response! I'm going to mess with it, and order from OEMacuraparts.com if that seems to be the problem. If anyone has any advice on replacing, or knows the part number that would be appreciated as well.

 

Yeah, it's a basically a simple switch. The driver's door gets a bit more of a workout.
Try wiggling it around. Ya could try swapping the passenger side's door switch with the driver's.
There's only a phillip's screw holding it on.
