Do broken engine mounts cause quicker tranny failure ?
I currently have 2 broken engine mounts ( have not inspected the tranny mounts yet ). Wondering if driving with the broken engine mounts will cause extra wear and tear on the already fragile tranny ?
I have searched the site and have not read anything regarding this question.
thanks

Short answer, no not really. However, if all three of your motor mounts are broken, the transmission mounts may fail more quickly.
Clutch packs taking more stress from extra tranny movement? Doesn't seem likely. Well, I can't find the link at least.

there are large numbers of TL owners running around with broken front mount- for a year or more,,until someone knowing of the problem looks up at the mounts for leakage
typically thats when its in for trans problem

just found out they are " apparently broken " from Acura on friday. I have not seen any leakage etc. And this is my daily driver. I dont want to create more problems for myself and my mechanic cant get me in for another week. The stealership wants like $1100 for it, and my mechanic will charge $350 with the 2 mounts..
