Disconnecting the battery
Hello all,
Quick question, I'm going to be storing my car for about 3 months and plan on disconnecting the battery so I got some juice left when I get back (yes I would like to be able to have it started while I'm away, but that really isn't an option.) My question is do I need to disconnect both wires or only one of them? I think I remember the last time I put my car in a commercial storage lot, they only disconnected one wire. Thanks!

Yes it matters!!!!! BIG TIME ELECTRIC SHOCK HAZARD
Always disconnect the NEGATIVE - wire first (and reconnect it last)
that is all that has to be removed, but it doesnt hurt to remove both and put a battery charger on it to make sure its full.
Invest in a ~float charger~ which will maintain the full condition of the battery for your return. Motorcycles use these to be ready to ride after months in the garage
If you cant hook power for it- after removing the wires- put some vaseline on the exposed metal parts- prevents bad stuff from growing!

To be safe, make sure you wrap it with a napkin or a rag to avoid any shortage.

go for it and undo both- coat the terminal and post with vaseline or battery post grease
then no issues whatsoever
