Died while Driving!!! Whaaaat do I do????
So as I was driving to work this morning I was going about 70 ishh mph when all of a sudden my car turned off(like died) and then a second later it came back on and everything was fine. No TCS light or CEL light. Then after I exited and as I was driving on the main road, I car completely died with the TCS light on. Got the car to the side of the road and it wouldn't turn over. Eventually after 5 minutes, I got the car running. Turned on fine. No CEL or TCS after that. Recently seafoamed and changed my oil. And a few months ago changed my spark plugs and coils, cleaned my intake manifold, EGR ports and EGR valve. Any idea on what could have caused this????? Pleeeaassseee Heeeeeelp!!

Sound like a faulty Ignition Key.. Yours is a 99-01 TL? Because if it is, then its most likely the dreaded ignition problem they seem to suffer...
Worst case Scenario is: You replace the entire Ignition Key Assembly.

3 pedals in my 99 TL
iTrader: (4)
if replacing the ignition doesn't work it might be the main (fuel pump) relay (located under dash above brake pedal). i had this same problem a few months ago. replaced my ignition switch and it still died on me then i did the main relay and problem solved. i have a new ignition switch if you want to save a few bucks from the dealer let me know. im located in sac though

Try checking for any stored CEL codes. Does the ignition key always turn the motor over normally ? Sometimes when the keychain for the ignition switch has a lot of things on it, the contacts will wear within the switch. Do ya ever have to wiggle the key to get the key to work ?
The main FPR could be a possible problem if the relay's solder is weak.

I had this happen once when I first got my TL, it spooked me for sure.
Guess what, it was loose and corroded battery terminals, It manage to start up fine though then absolutely everything went out for about 2 seconds. Replaced both terminals and 4 years later never experienced it again.
Not going against the ignition switch here but have a look at battery terminals first.

Just an update: Changed my ignition switch and soldered my relay for my FP a few weeks ago. Issue went away. Also checked my cables for any fraying. Thanks everyone!

Yeah, thanks for following up ! Good to know that you're fixed up.
By any chance ..... was there any evidence of a smoking gun anywhere ?
How did the ignition switch contacts appear ? Anything suspicious with the FPR ?

You're most welcome!
No problem. But as far as I could see, no evidence of a smoking gun anywhere, my FPR relay had a crack in one of the points that needed to be re-soldered, and the ignition switch had black stuff on it when I removed it. Don't know what it was but as soon as I fixed both. I could feel the difference in my car. Used to feel like my car would die when starting from a warm start but now it turns over smooth and hasn't died. So lets hope that was all I had to do.

I've had the ignition switch problem and the main relay problem.
Yours sounds like the ignition switch because it came back on.
When my relay went it the car would stop, but it would take 5+ minutes before you could start again.

Thanks man! I'm jus happy the problem went away. But when I checked my relay, I had a crack on one of my points. I believe that was causing my warm start issue.

Mine had already been replaced by Acura and failed again.
One piece of advice, don't have a heavy key chain it will accelerate the issue.
Glad the OP is doing well. That relay took me several months and several stalls to finally figure out the issue.
