dashboard goes blank for a second
Hey Im new here first post,
Looking for some help troubleshooting problem with my acura tl 99 160k. The problem is with the dashboard, when driving down the road the dashboard seems to go haywire the lights seem to blink a little and then then guadges go haywire. The tempurater guadge goes flickering up and down like a yo-yo, then the speedometer drops to zero and pops back up to your speed, all the electronic information such as tack goes completely blank like the car is shut off, only for a second and not very often.
Is this a loose ground wire????

soon as I saw the thread title I thought- must be a 99!!!
ck acura care 1-800-382 2238 x5 need cars VIN number
ask if recall was completed for ignition switch
can also register online and ck in the section RECALL

if it was done before, they only do it once,
after that,, you read the diy section on how to replace the electrical back part for $45

if recall was not done- you get a free switch installed- call dealer for appointment- they may have to order one,,speak with parts manager to be sure

good call fire,, I do jump to the ign switch out of habit,,
take it to any major name parts store and ask for an electrical system/battery test
Its free and only takes a few minutes
Drive on freeway first, without load of lights-ac fan etc--to charge battery
then have system tested
if batt is 3-4 years old its a candidate for replacement
