Dash, windows, mirrors, shifter OUT.
So I had a whole host of issues suddenly crop up at once.
-Dash went out. Backlights are still on, but none of the gauges display anything.
-Auto mirror, side mirrors, and windows went out.
-I can't shift out of drive. If I want to go to reverse or park, I have to stick a pencil down the slot next to the shifter and press down the button in there.
-The vehicle tops out at 85 MPH. It kind of sputters
My roommate is a master mechanic and he's looking into this. He thinks one of the computers went out. His computer is showing that 2 of the cylinders are mis-firing.
I have no idea how or why all this happened at once.
Anyone else have anything similar happen? What was the resolution?

lets sort thru this:
Have you inspected the brake lights- ALL of the bulbs are working including center rear window ones?
Next the brake light switch- loose? or worn? located at brake pedal arm
Failure of that will do the Shifter lockout, but should only prevent you from getting out of park, not restrict getting from D5 to anything else
Or the actual shifter lockout can fail
Spilled anything in the shifter-cup holder or cd storage recently?
soda etc can drip under the shifter onto some microswitches that control SS,
and who knows what else is there
other lights. ck fuses and relays- swap with spares..relay of same color are interchangable

2 cyl misfire codes can be just 1 coil,,try pulling power lead one coil at a time looking for rpm drop
no change = bad coil
reset ECU by removing the CLOCK fuse on passenger end of dash- after coil replacement
windows etc,,same thing with relay and fuse
Door open and switches got wet in rain or snow?
ALL Ground wires good condition?- that will screw with dash
is the rpm limited to 2500? thats Limp Mode ..
the 85mph I havnt heard of unless exhaust restriction? cat failure?
