Crusie Control Dilema

OK,.I did a bunch of search on this topic and every single topic's problem was different from the other. So I'm just gonna tell the problem and hope someone out there has a clue of what is going on with my damn 00 TL! Ok, now for the problem, although the master switch for the cruise is set to on, when I go down the road at about 40mph, and set the cruise on the steering wheel control, the cruise light in the dash goes on but the cruise doesn't engage. So after a bunch of searchs, I checked the cable that goes into the black box left of the engine, and also the end of the cable going to the throttlebody. Everything seems to be tight. The fuse for the controller seems to be ok and not blowing. So I thought I had it narrowed down to the control box. So I bought a new cruise module (black box left of the engine) and installed that. All excited after I installed it, I jumped in the car and headed down the road but low and behold, it still doesn't work and the cruise light in the dash doesn't light up now. I was like What the hell bobby

Can anyone tell me what the hell is going on here! What are the components that make up the cruise and where are they located in a 2000TL? PLEASE help you TL-maniacs! And as always, thanks for your help in advance!

There is a cruise control module under the dash to the right of the steering shaft (towards center of car) you have to remove the knee panel to get to it. I would say its possible that its that. If it where a brake sensor or speed sensor, i wouldnt think the light would come on. That or a short between that and the motor itself.

OK,..I scrunched my lumpy body upside down over the seat and found the control module for the cruise. The sticker says it's made my Denso and it says auto cruise on it. So I assume that is it. Does anyone know if there is an aftermarket part for that or do I need to go to the dealer? How much is this part gonna run me?

Ok..So I called Delray Acura and told them that I needed the cruise control module that is located underneath the dash. The part number for that item is part #2 on diagram. Part # is 36700-S0KA51 The diagram calles it a "controller" Really descriptive huh?!?! It's $160.00 on the website. Does anyone out there know where I can get it cheaper?

Maybe I can go down to my local dealership and "test drive" one and switchout the part!
