Cracked Fog Light? Repair/Replace

First off, I am new to this forum and want to say you guys provide a great information source. I just bought a 2003 Acura TL Type-S and it has a cracked front passenger fog light. I was wondering what the best/cheapest way to replace this would be? I saw a GE Lexan replacement on eBay has anybody done this? Any thoughts or comments are greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Aaron

Man I bought my car in the same condition lol
Well not all people may say this but installing the Lexan lenses was PITA. I was able to get it on there, but the silicon isn't perfect and I slightly bent the silver frame when I was taking it off. And I also heard some ppl talk about melting problems... so I decided to go search on eBay and other websites. If you search good you will find a whole bunch of deals on new and used OEM and aftermarket foglights for 03 TLs. I settled with aftermarket foglights...since I didn't have the money to buy OEM ones. Haven't received them yet so can't say much about quality. Hope this will help you.

Thanks for the advice, I guess i'll just have to shell out the 80 some bucks for the OEM ones on eBay.

You can give this thread a quick review. I'm in there and have done the Lexan lens conversion. Yes, it was a PITA...and I'm really hoping that I don't end up with the pitting and melting.

Reading some other threads in this forum, I think Depo brand foglights are good aftermarket units.

Funny, I just replaced my foglight lens two days ago, and it was not a PITA. All I had to do is just make four small indentations with a file in the lens, and it fit perfectly. There are four small ridges on the foglight itself to keep the lens in place; other than that, it was painless. And don't use silicone caulking to seal it--it will make a huge mess; use acrylic. I bought my lens on ebay for $25.95 shipped from d0ubler. Don't know how it will hold up against melting, but I'm happy with the lens, and the price was right. Oh, and I had to take the bumper off to install a grille, so I it was a good time toreplace the lens. But taking the bumper off takes about 10 minutes, and so does putting it back on.

DIY the sucker. Not that hard and it cost me less than 20 bucks, with enough lexan to make 7 lenses. No melting on mine, and its been on for quite some time. They are always on with me headlights too, much i usually run during the daytime. Pitting is very light as well. There is a thread somewhere that shows what is needed, but it is essentially lexan, a dremel or rotary tool and a sealant.

Ditto.

Just did this "repair" last week.

Would rate it a 1/5 in difficulty, i.e. easy.

Hopefully the Lexan lens holds up. Fit perfectly, no issues. (got it off of eBay).

Get a replacement OEM from ebay or something and get XPEL or Rockblocker film to put on the glass to prevent them from breaking again. Same happened to me and 3 years later...No broken lenses with my XPEL (Weathertech.com) fog lamp film
