Collision Repair
Hello.
My 1999 Acura TL (Stickers) was in a minor pile up collision last week & since I only have liability on her I am only going to get money for the rear damage (which is just the bumper & passenger side tail light)
One of my family members thinks that we can fix her. However, he is not a mechanic & we plan on trying to figure this out as we go & get most of the parts from the junk yard.
I am hoping that someone can provide us with some diagrams of the parts that are in the front & some advice on what will need to be done. Or where I should look for more information. I know that the radiator & alternator are destroyed. There was no impact on the engine (thank god!!) & we will need to find someone who can weild to replace the front bar under the bumper.
There was no damage to the frame or crossmember so I'm hoping it wont be too bad to fix.
Any advice is greatly appriciated.
Attached is a picture to give you an idea of the damage.

P.S. I just have to remark on how completely shocked I still am that this was done at 30mph & that the Civic I hit didn't even get a cracked bumper....wtf??

To me the front upper radiator support is toast, once you get the bumper off i think you may find more damage there once every thing is off. The reason you have more damage is your bumper went under his. Your hood did what it was supposed to.
