Exclamation Coil Pack Problem (Again...)

I'm new here!!!

Recently I had trouble cranking the car (TCS & Check Engine Light came on) and after some research here, I decided to replace the Coil Packs and Spark Plugs. Once installed, I reset the check engine light and the car ran great for a couple of weeks.

Yesterday, the same problem came up and the car wouldn't start (TCS & Check Engine light) again ! I drove a bunch yesterday. Once the car cooled, I was able to crank it right up and drive off.

Do Coil Packs go back that fast or do you think I have another problem? I immediately had the codes checked and the following ones came up:

1. P0301- Cylinder 1 Misfire
2. P0302- Cylinder 2 Misfire
3. P0304- Cylinder 4 Misfire
4. P0305- Cylinder 5 Misfire
5. P0306- Cylinder 6 Misfire
6. P0300- Random Multiple Misfires Decteted
7. P1399- Ignition System or Misfire

Any suggestions on the next step I should take?

Thanks!!!

Car not starting usually isnt a coilpack issue. Getting a misfire code once that has happened could be a fuel issue. When this happens does it happen when the motor has been driven and warm? If so it sounds like a vapor lock issue. Some have had the problem, and it seems to be an expensive fix. It requires a new ecu and fuel pressure regulator.

what fuel are you putting in the car, and what year is your car?

I have that same problem also. I just bought my 00 tl from an old friend who changed the transmission. The evening i picked up the car, all was good and well. couple days later she started to act up. brought it back to my friend and he couldn't believe what was happening with the car. he told me he changed out couple of the coil packs and since one of the motor mounts is cracked, he said the vibration messes with the sensor. My CEL light is on and sometimes the TCS light comes on also. codes are the same P0300-06 and P1399.

Besides replacing the tranny and some coil packs, have your old friend help ya out......as he should know what all he's done in the way of general "PM" and cleaning of some problem areas which are common to our TL's.

How long ago before you bought the car was the tranny work done ?
Any warranty assistance ? What are friends for ?
