Climate control continuity testing

I performed troubleshooting because I’m not getting heat in my 2001 TL Type S. The DTC Code retrieved from the “88” is an “I”. The below is what is described for testing for the code. I found where the actuator under the passenger side dash connects and can only assume that is the motor connector and connector A. But the description of all female terminals puts that in doubt. Does anyone understand this continuity testing and have any illustrations as to where to place the multimeter probes?
