Clicking Relay

Searched the forum up and down and can't find the thread for the life of me. There is a relay that won't stop clicking, located near the brake master cylinder. Know what I'm talking about?

Yeppur, just replace that solenoid and all will be well. It's part of the EVAP system.

New one might tick too, it's kind of random. It's not broken, it just gets louder over time for some reason. Might need lubrication in the internal mechanism.

Oddly enough I was just about to post the same question. I started hearing this a couple of months ago. Its intermittent and there is no pattern to it (that I can descern). When it does happen it can be heard at the solenoid above the brake booster, but also at the canister in front of the fuel tank. I stopped into the Acura dealer who refused to even venture a guess without me paying for diagnosis, and then to the Honda dealer who at least tried looking it up for me. She, if nothing else, understood my reluctance to pay $200 to diagnose something on a 10 year old car that isn't even causing an issue yet.
Anyway, is it for sure the solenoid in the engine compartment, or could it indicate an issue elsewhere within the emissions system?

Welcome dwmead86!

Your problem doesn`t sound like a Purge Valve Solenoid. The pvs relay is right behind the brake fluid master cylinder. It`s square. With the car running put your ear on it if it clicks replace it.

You might have two different issues.

For more info on the Purge Valve Solenoid and associated clicking, check out the 2nd Gen's "DIY" sticky or previous related threads.
For about $50, just replace the valve with a new one and the noise will probably go away.
