Talking Cleaned my intake

I just cleaned out my intake mani and there was so much crap in there. Some of the ports where almost closed all the way. No wounder I was getting crappy MPG's. I just filled it up and im looking forward to see hou much I will get. Before I was getting 320 miles babying with no A/C. It already idles better and accerates smoother.

Good stuff, let us know how it turns out at the end of the tank. I think it's an area that generally is neglected when it should be cleaned out once in a while. Many have found that the seafoam cleaning can clean the front section, but not the rear.

If you are getting 320 already im not sure you should expect much more. That is pretty good mileage. ALL hwy you will get more, but mixed or city thats good already.

i'm normally getting 320 to the tank, but like you, i cleaned mine a couple weeks back - this is my second time. i'm 2 or 3 tanks post-cleaning and i'm averaging 350-ish now (from full tank to the light). basically from 21-22 mpg to 24-25+ mpg.

i run a can of seafoam through the tank about once every 3 months and i could really tell a difference in the plenum and egr port on the second cleaning.

Damn you are alrdy getting a lot, Ive been recording my fill ups since August in an app and I am averaging 19.2 MPG with about 254 miles per fill up. And I do both highway and city, probably about half and half or a ltl more highway than city. Maybe i should try cleaning my intake, any improvement would be worth it. Is the Filter in that black box next to the battery??

sweet well I'll check it out next weekend when i come back home since i dont have any tools here. Is it just taking off some bolts? Ohh is there a particular way I need to clean the filter? I should probably search for that if there is a thread.

Stock filter is paper, you can't clean it. Just replace. Or get a K&N drop-in filter. You can clean those.

Couple bolts and pull the filter box out.

yup. this was my exact result as well. i went from ~320ish to upwards of 350mpg on mix of hghwy & city driving. (i've really gotta stop driving 80-85 on the i-state. if i did, i'm sure my mileage would increase even more)
