catalytic converter

I need to replace my CC but was wondering if I can just permenatley remove it. If I don't replace it will my engine light remain on?

Thanks.

Yes, you can remove it and use a test-pipe, or replace it with a Random Tech High flow cat. If you delete it, you will get a CEL unless you "trick" it using the spark plug de-fouler method.

My suggestion is to get the random tech high flow, so you can remain legal and still get better performance.

Most shops will not remove the CC from a car since it is a Federal law to have the Cats installed on your car. If you have inspections in your state you could be looking at some trouble.

Thanks for the info. Since I am in SC I don't have inspections so I will try the spark plug method. Where do I find the O2 sensor on my '99 TL 3.2?
