Question Carpet Replacement

I was thinking about replacing the carpet in my 03 tl-s. Has anyone done this before. I need to take the seats out to fix the heaters, so I thought that the time to do the carpet would be while I have the front seats out, obviously. It seems like a big job to replace the carpet. Has anyone tried? Any pointers?

I found the carpet for $280 + shipping. I'm not worried about that, I just haven't ever heard of how hard it is in this particular car. Does anyone know what's involved?

not sure exactly what's involved in the TL, but you'll have to remove both front seats, center console, and possibly the bottom of the rear seat. possibly the seat belts/brackets also.

The carpet is easy to remove on the TL. But most all the plastic in the car, Seats front and rear need to come out, along with the center console need to be removed

Read post above you. "most all the plastic" though it all just is clipped on and easy to remove.

Don't mean to get off topic, but how do you fix the seat heaters?

My driver seat no longer warms up

sorry for bumping a old post. I am a dumb ass!!! I had a lawnmower battery in the back of my TL. It spilled acid in the back floor board. Where did you find the carpet for $280+shipping at? Is it OEM carpet or aftermarket? I want to replace mind it looks like shit. It ate through the carpet but I dont think it ate through the metal part of the floor board(Thank GOD) I am going to replace all the floor mats when i do it too If anyone know where I can a good oem set at?
