CarbonCovers Ebay Vinyl Pillar Post Review!

I recently made one of the best decisions of my life by purchasing and installing CarbonCovers' polycarbonate kit for the pillar posts on my 03 tl-s. They fit amazingly, they look oh so good, and it was completely hassle-free.

Instructions:

1. Clean off surface of stock post with the given alcohol wipes (VERY THOROUGHLY)

2. Do a dry fit of the product just to make sure youre holding the right one for the right section.

3. Peel off the adhesive

4. Apply the vinyl, like a sticker.

VERY DURABLE, VERY EASY, VERY FAIR PRICE, GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!

If so, it's not an easy install. I just wrapped my pillars and the trim in 3M Scotchprint 1080 for both rear doors. Taking out the small pillars took time and effort.

FYI I bought a 1'x5' roll from autovinylsolutions.com for $9. Did all the work myself...looks brand new.

Do the existing worn pillars need to be removed? I just purchased and received the new vinyl pillar they are thicker than I expected... to the point I am unsure how it would look/how much it would be raised if I just stuck them onto the existing pillars.

I decided to paste the new pillars on top of the originals. They do seem a little odd as how thick this piece of the car is and how it sticks out. But you cannot tell unless you are up close.

It looks really good, however, it brings out the worn black piece that wraps around the top of the window :\ Now I'd like this fixed to match the new pillar.

It is a nice product, but I may choose to do a DIY vinyl project. First because there will not be a big difference in thickness to the rest of the window. And second, because I can do the rest of the window - the piece that wraps around the top and side of the window, not just the pillar. I
