Car wont start, p1399 code

I got an 02 acura TL. At first my car started but ran like crap, I tried to drive it to my friends shop but it died. When I would give it gas, it would sputter and vibrate until I got over 40mph. Then it just died. He checked the coil packs. And they Aren't even sparking, I changed all the packs and plugs with the NGK laser iridiums a year ago, the fuel pump is good, battery good, starter good. He thinks it's the crankshaft sensor. Any one else have a problem like this? Any input would be helpful.

P1399 would still indicate a misfire condition. It appears that the car was in a default limp mode. Was the CEL flashing ?

Many things could cause this code, but since ya did a tune up along with replacing the coil packs....it must be something else. But, recheck your previous work and make sure that all of the electrical connections are secure.

Perhaps an interlock or relay is on the edge. Try to narrow the problem down to either being electrical or fuel related. Check the fuel pressure and cylinder compression.

Is is possible the TCS mode is causing the misfire.
The TCS mode light just came on in my 02 TL with 100,000 miles and it is misfiring with code P1399.
I replaced all of the plugs (they were original) and engine still idles rough.

Welcome Eldo Jay !!!
Give us some more PM history and any problems other than the rough idle.

Many times things like the EGR passageways and the IAC valve need cleaned. Check the site's 2nd Gen "DIY" sticky for many helpful tips on common issues with our TL's. Could possibly be a fuel related issue or a bad coil pack ?

Thing is car runs great, only issue and only sometimes it has trouble starting the engine will shake but then after few secs runs Normal, two days ago got spark plugs changed reset cel and light came back on, car still runs fine. Says 1,2,4 misfire in the codes but car runs fine. Battery fine alternator fine starter fine at this point I don't know what's up

It only happen in this cold east coast weather once the snow struck im thinking my PC is off

I had this issue for the last two months, I messed around with the EGR valve, the EGR channels, and injectors and the car still had the issue. I replaced all of the spark plugs and ignition coils. Found out to be the spark plugs or ignition coils was the issue.

Could be any number of things, crank position sensor, could be bad ground, could be fuel injectors, could be a EGR reading wrong, could be broken timing belt(a reason the car wouldnt start), could be the ECU.
