Post Car running like a champ!

I am new to this site. I bought an 02 tl about 6 months ago with 155,000 on it. The car was shifting hard and shuddering between 20-30 mph. Just took it to the local acura dealer in VA. Got a transmission fluid drain and fill done. Results car shifts fine now and hopefully I can keep it that way.

good to hear because from what i know doing a tranny drain and fill after 100k is not healthy for it but if yours seems to feel better then hopefully it stays like that.

Yeah that's what I read on this site about the drain and fill instead of flush.

I bought 4 quarts of ATF Z-1 for $30 in PA, did the drain/fill myself.
And just bought another 3 quarts in DE, $21, and did another drain/fill.

The fluid still smalls a tiny bit burnt, but looks clean.

Acura charges $89 plus tax for the same service that takes 30 minutes and $30, at most.

Can someone go into detail why the drain and fill is better than a flush?

If the tranny was giving you problems and the fluid helped that problem then its only a band-aid of whats to come at least from what iv seen. Had a few friends years ago and shortly after doing a drain and refill the tranny went out. I sure hope you dont have that problem and wish you the best of luck.
