Car does not accelaerate past 2000rpm until warm.
I wrote about this issue a few months ago and I explained that my '03 tl was having issues accelarting past 2000rpm when the engine was cold. My spark plugs were long overdue as well as a tune-up. I suspected that it may be the quality of gas or other factors but all of my assumptions were either accounted for or ruled out. I decided to get the trans checked at the acura dealership they specifically stated that the trans showed no signs of malfunction and that it was shifting normally. I decided to change the spark plugs and throw some fuel injector cleaner into the gas and the car performed way better.
However, over the last few days the problem has returned. the temperature has dropped to an average 60 degrees and it is very wet. In the morning, when I turn the car on and attempt to drive the engine does not exceed 2000rpms until it gets warm. While idle, the engine shakes as if it is misfiring. No codes show up on the computer reader nor do i have a engine light. What else can contribute to this problem and why did it go away when I initially changed the spark plugs?

Exactly what spark plugs did you install? ngk iridium or ngk platinum, about 8 bucks each?
or some 2 buck each plug from B or acdel or ???
Guess which ones are the right plugs for the car!! for a reason
guess what happens to the wrong plugs in a few months,,they get eaten by the TLs' super hi energy coil on plug ignition
beyond that, look for dirt in connectors- use CRC electrical contact cleaner in the power leads to each coil, and any connector you can get to,,clean is better~

fuel cleaner, what brand and what ratio used?
most require a few doses for a complete job, especially when cleaning to track a problem
read label and see website for product, use at max allowed dose, not a can in full tank

have you done the egr port and passage service to the intake manifold?
needed around 75kmiles,,every 75kmiles
and the TB air plate? get both front and back sides and edges with carb cleaner
does it refuse to go above 2000, or it has difficulty?

its not throwing misfire codes though--has your car had coil issue and no code?
rough idle can be clogged egr system and may cause the overall issue if extreme
or if the wrong plugs were installed, same result--good then fail soon
Thats where I would start, examine a plug if not sure on brand
and remove the intake manifold with TB for a good scrubbing
that 99 has only 1 egr port!! easy clog!!
does your 99 have 1 coil and plug wires, or 6 coil on plug? not sure when they switched
