Exclamation CAI hose problems

Ok, so I was cheap and now have to pay up. I bought a generic CAI on ebay that comes with a K&N filter. I am a big k&n fan so I thought I was alright. What differance is the pipe if it is polished, aluminum, and a direct path. Here is the catch...Thi vacuum hose inlets are pointing the wrong direction. Both are pointing toward the firewall. The small one in the back was an easy fixby just moving it a little to to the right. the other one (the bigger one) that is supposed to go in the front of the pipe (looking at it from the front of the car) is in the back pointing down and back. Now the kit came with hose clamps and hose that is the right size to fit between the OEM pipe and the CAI but it kinks due to the large bend required. Is this kink a problem (thus requiring a new hose that i am having trouble finding at a local auto parts store) or am I being picky? I just have no idea how important this pipe is to the car or if it needs that much air. Again, the pipe in question runs in front of the engine to the right of center into the incoming air inlet before the throttle body. I would include a pic but that is kicking my butt so I will just start this and hope some of you know what I am talking about and be able to help me. Thank you all in advance. I just do not want to screw up my new (to me) TL. I love it too much.
