ok so my rear view mirror broke out of place and will no longer lock onto the ball that is connected to the windshield.. the auto dim and everything works fine.. but the plastic part that connects to the windshield is broken.. my question is does anyone know how to take it out? because right now its basically just dangling on a wire and its getting kind of annoying.. also i heard there has been a black liquid leakage from the auto dimmer in the rearview mirrors and the manufacturer (manga donelly) are replacing it for free, (is this true?).

If yours has the bubbles- call the maker and they take care of you.

If that part is ok, call them and ask for the part you need

 

Magna Donnely was reaplacing mirrors free of charge if there is something wrong with the auto dim. People (including myself) had problems where the liquid looked like it had leaked inside the mirror and some people have even had them explode and spew the liquid (which ended up being toxic, I think) all over the car damaging the console and/or seats. If it is just the bracket that is broken, I don't think they will send you a new one.

You could maybe break your mirror and get them to send you a new one if the parts are too expensive.

 

It never hurts to call them and ask.
Many companies will provide parts for outdated models at no charge!
