Brake lamp????

What's up peoples???? Finally today did the 02 light conversion on my 99, sweet deal, when I was done I started up the car pressed the brakes and my "Brake Lamp" light came on so I figured I hit one of the bulbs and blew it out, so I got someone to look at the back so when I press the lights he could tell me which one was out, come to find out neither one was out.........What else could it be causing this light to come on????????????

Mabe the LED's don't draw as much current as the incandescent bulbs did, so the brake lamp circuit thinks there is now an open circuit (like a bulb burned out), lighting the brake indicator lamp. Could be u need another resistor to ground in the ciruit so it would draw a little more current. Just a thought

I didn't change the bulbs I changed the housing from the 99 tails to the 02 tails, thanks for the input but that can't be the case.

did you check with the lights on then with the brakes applied. the bulbs are dual filament so when one filament blows it will trip the lamp indicator.

OK, found the brake light that was out, replaced it, light went off, but when I turned the car off and turned it on again and pressed the brakes it came on again then it went off again this is annoying, do I have to reset something to get this light off completely???????

I am having a similar issue. I had not thought to check the lights while breaking though. Guess I will check tonight.

Thanks
