bogging out
bogging out
I hate this crap. Im driving, pretty low on fuel but on my way to the gas station when all of a sudden my car started to sputter at low RPMs so I thought damn I must be running out of gas. As I started going faster it cleared up. So I made it to a gas station and put about 6 gallons of 93 octane in and I drove back home. Then when i got back in my car again it started all over again. It acted like there was water in my fuel, but there isnt. WTF? And there is no CEL light coming on. As I drive it clears up then drives just fine. Please give me some suggestions. A while ago it did the same thing but the CEL came on indicating something with the o2 sensor, which later I found out that the o2 sensor wires were crimped really bad sending a malfunction to the engine, but thats not the case now because I get no CEL. I have a 99 tl. Please help. Thanks.
remove the throttle body assembly- the thing between the intake manifold (it bolts to the intake) and the tube to the air filter- where the throttle cables go
On the bottem is a small cover- 2 screws- remove- iacv is the little thing in there- pop it out and spray with carb cleaner
option to that is-- some fuel cleaner in the gas at max strength- guessing there was some micro stuff may have gotten stirred up from the corners of the tank?

and check those O2 wires again- no CEL light may only mean the light doesnt work!
go to autozone and ask them to scan for codes- they do it free
report back here- dont freak about what codes may say- they are clues not diagnosis

look at the DIY for egr cleaning- it has pics of the bolts that hold the TB unit on to the manifold

and consider a seafoam treatment for the intake manifold- and the gas treatment to clean the injectors- they may have gotten clogged
spray clean that round plate inside the TB with carb cleaner while you are working on it
