blinking d5? heard it might be a temp sensor?

my d5 randomly blinks every once and a while, the check engine light has never lit up, and the fluid looks fine. i read somewhere online that it could be a temp sensor but i forgot to look more into it, any body know what the problem could be? and if it is the temp sensor how do i check it? autozone?

just kidding, fmo what ive read a constant blinking d5 light is tranny failure. do you notice anything funky with the shifting, like slipping or something along those lines?

to autozone for a free code reading (except Ca,)
report back with those
Do you notice it blinks when on the gas hard getting on the freeway?

how does the trans fluid look and smell? burnt sugary? brown or black color?
ever change the fluid?
car year and miles?
trans original or replacement thru acura--look for blue paint on trans bolt heads

Its got 105k, fluid is normal, dirty tho. And it flashes randomly sometimes at start. No burnt smell either.

i would start off with a 3x3 drain and fill on the trans. now it blinks only when you start the car and not after that while driving?

The ONLY way you OR us will know what the problem is is if you get the codes read. Until then all we are all doing is guessing. Get the codes read and let us know what they are.

Dude, just tell them that it's on. They'll scan it and tell you what code it is. D5 flashing means the ECU knows there's a tranny problem.

tell them its intermittant but we at acurazine said there should be a stored code

tell us the actual code
if its really just a temp sensor, thats something we need to log into the diagnosis page

codes are clues not diagnosis--usually,,,
