Battery Terminal Corrosion?
i think i have a bad case of corrosion or something... ever since i installed my sysem (power wire directly to the positive terminal). but since then, i have moved the wire to the fuse box and there still is corrosion.
heres a pic:
can anyone tell me how to get rid of this? i think its also happening in my fuse box now as well.

some baking soda and vinegar mixed together and apply it to the area, and scrub it a little. after its clean get some dielectric grease and coat them. should help prevent it

Could be a sign of a problem, but its common on deep cycle batteries.
1. Check all your connections
2. Have your charging system tested
3. Upgrade your wires (big 3)
4. Electrolysis due to the mismatch of metal alloys used in the battery posts and terminals
Your battery migh be under alot of stress & releasing fumes because its being overchared by the alternator because the regulator on the alternator is bad & is sending to much voltage or your battery is leaking fumes because its old & overworked.
In other words your stereo system is putting lots of stress on your charging system & something is weakening.
First I would clean the terminal, put vasoline on the parts that are corroding & do #1,2 & 4 above. Go from there.
#3 would benefit your whole charing system & reduce resistence.
