Anyone running Amsoil ATF in there TL's

I have an 03 TL that is not under the recall warranty, and am looking to hopefully extend the life of my transmission. Anyone running Amsoil ATF in there cars? What kind of shifts have you experienced? How many miles on the fluid? How many miles in between changes? Looking for opinions...

i'd stick with the honda atf only as acura will most likely good will the repair as long as you have the car regularly serviced......dunno how happy that they would be if there was non honda atf in there though..........

You should read up on the tranny failure. It has absolutely nothing to do with fluid. The third gear clutch pack is a terrible design and is what is causing the problem.

I stick with Honda fluid. Feel free to use Amsoil if you feel the need, but don't expect any better longevity.

Amsoil ATF

Before switching to Amsoil ATF I had a surge when my TL would shift from 2nd to 3rd gear. After dropping the fluid 4 times to get 100% synthetic I have 8000 miles on Amsoil ATF and have experienced smother shifts, quicker warm ups and haven't had it surge since I replaced it. I thought I would post my results for people like me who want to do whatever they can to help Honda's poorly designed transmissions.

It may have temporarily smoothed it out but it wont help the design problem. Fluid isnt the problem. Getting the fluid to the part is the problem. No fluid in the world will help that.
