Ambient air sensor failure
A few thousand miles ago I noticed that my ambient air temp. sensor was no longer working and it now displays three dashes (---).
I replaced the sensor but that did'nt fix it, also inspected the fuses and all checked out. Really not sure what else it could be, I'm thinking maybe a short in the wiring??
I've also searched but could'nt find any useful info.
Anybody encounter this before and was able to fix it? I would like to DIY if possible.

I just looked in the manual and its very very vague on what to do. If it doesnt work they say to replace it and test the sensor in hot and cold water checking the resistance. If you replaced it and it still doesnt work id check the wiring. It may also be the gauge.

Ya the manual dosen't go beyond what to do if the replacement sensor dosen't fix it.
When you say bad gauge, are you refering to the dash display?
Not really a big deal for now, but still kinda annoying knowing that everythings not working properly.
