Question Air Bag Light

Does anyone know why the airbag light comes on?

I notice that if I have something like a gallon of milk and a few groceries on my passenger seat the airbag light will come on and turn off with my driving, as the weight shifts. But when it is empty OR when my boyfriend is sitting in it, the light is off. Is there something wrong with it?

Thanks!
Amanda

No there is nothing wrong. It's a "smart" air bag. something like if there is someone sitting in the seat that is in the wrong position and you get into an accident it wont deploy and cause more harm. It was talked about before https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...t=airbag+light

You've posted the link to Owner's Manual 100 times and for some reason, the 2002 TL link doesn't give the whole document. All I get is the Table of contents and the links don't work. Am I missing something?

As soon as members stop asking basic questions that are in the owner book- and I assume most used cars are lacking the factory book or they wouldnt be here asking- I will stop giving them a place to find the answer on their own.

Then everyone will register with acura and stop asking if they had the oil jet kit done already or if they are covered VIN etc.

Then again- if you cant figure out how to click for a free manual, maybe you dont belong working on the TL~

I've done what everyone has suggested and downloaded the .pdf file that opens. I have a Mac and it automatically opens in Preview - the default opener and I also have the full version of Adobe Acrobat. When opened in Preview and I click the blue links - nothing happens. When I open in Acrobat and click the links, I get an error message saying the file cannot be opened. Would someone be willing to email or PM me the file so I can try one that is verified to work correctly?

01tl4tl - who was this directed at?

Then again- if you cant figure out how to click for a free manual, maybe you dont belong working on the TL~

Do not download the pdf. Do everything online. Each blue link is a different pdf. Once you get to the page you're interested in, download that one.

The file isn't accessible any other way for me. I can download the PDF or access online, but I get the same error codes.

I don't know what your problem is. Every time I click on a blue page number, I see that page in pdf format.

Not the reader - I have the full version of Acrobat. Nothing to do with the install - I don't think. Oh well.

try that direct to the page- otherwise its a Mac issue

My comment was a general jab at anyone who has not registered the car with Acura Care, or cant BOTHER to read the owner manual- some even own the factory one and never opened it (my wife)
Those people- despite 100 times of being given the links to honda....have taken no action taken to educate themself.....should they really be allowed under the hood?
