Hello i was wondering if anyone can help me out??? So me and brother just did a tranny swap to his 03 acura tl but the tranny slightly miss shift and when we shift it only shows park and D4 and down so if anyone has done a tranny swap on the same year or around there please help

 

I'd love to help, but your description is a bit vague. Can you post some more details about the mis-shifts and indicator issues?

I'm assuming you mean the gear shift indicator on the dash? You should be able to shift into every position from P down to 1 and the dash should reflect the correct gear. If not, your transmission range switch needs to be adjusted.

After you've sorted that, if you're having shift issues make sure the fluid level is correct. After driving, with the engine fully warmed up and turned off, the level should be in between the two holes on the dipstick.

 

At the moment yes it would shift to p to 1 but its stuck on d5 such as it wont shift gears it just stays at d5 so it wont even if we was to shift it to d4 it still feel like its on d5 and the transmission light come on

 

So the dash always says D5 no matter what gear the shifter is in? Are you able to drive the car? When you say it won't shift, do you mean the car stays in 1st gear?

 

So its goes to d4 and all but when u driving it will still feel like its in d5 and when we drive it up the parking lot it wont climb all the way

 

Why are you driving in D4? How does it "feel like it's in D5"?

 

Lets put it this way say i put it in sports mode it starts off with 1 rite so if i try to go up it wont go anywhere it will stay in sport 1

 

So what happens if you put it in D5?
