there is a problem with the power connector just below glovebox- rust- wire looseness- melting!!
also the fan motor resistor can go bad- that controls speed by adjusting power to motor
have you ever replaced the cabin air filters? behind/below glovebox
see our diy section for help (diy link is 4th item down main gen2 thread title list) simple job- 20-30 minutes, and the blower motor and resistor are behind the filters
Filters come with the needed 2 in 1 package, walmart has a good deal on them

when posting your prob please include year and mileage, details such as fan wont go above low speed- or whatever your symptoms are- make it easier to find the correct answer and direct you to the repairs. We consider most things to be DIY and have a thread or more to guide you
