AC problem

All right so here it goes. Haven't turned my ac on in a few months, went to turn it on today and it blows extremely hot air. Once I realized this I switched it back to heat and that almost felt cooler(still hot though) then the ac. Tried recharging the system but no luck. Not even the slightest difference. What do you guys think? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Weird but it seems to have fixed itself. Went for about an hour drive to the dealership to pick up a part not regarding this. Once i got back in the car i turned the ac on and it was cooler then it used to be. Still curious as to what would have caused this.
