99' TL keyless entry remote????
Is there an antenna somewhere inside the car for the keyless entry/alarm system? Where is the reciever located? Anyone experience diminished reception where you have to hit the remote several times to get it to work? I've tried new batteries and re-training the remotes. Sometimes it works well, other times I have to hit the button a few times to get it to lock/unlock. Also.. the horn-chirp is extremely weak. Normal horn is nice and load as it should be but when the alarm goes off or I lock or unlock with the remote, is sounds like it would if your car battery was almost dead and you tried the horn. This is only apparent with the alarm chirper, ... Steering wheel button push is nice and loud and when alarm sounds loud. Is this just the way it is?
Thanks in advance....

my horn works fine no problem there, but like you said remote works prfectly fine sometimes and sometimes i have to press it a couple of times for it to work. But I am gettign a car starter with the options for the doors and the trunk as well as locking so i hope that will fix the problem.

Let us know what kind of remote starter you install and how you like it...
I've been toying with that idea also but I want to get the other things fixed first.

I feel you man, but I think for the 99TL (unlike 02 TL) there are two different horns. There is the nice loud one that sounds when you push on the driver/steering wheel airbag; and then there is the old school horn (same sound as my sold 92 accord) used as a beeper that sounds when you lock your car. I know in the 02TLS they have a real 'beep' when you lock not the sound of a horn.

you can actually hold the remote to your chin when pressing buttons and increase your range. ghetto but it works. IMO...even if you spent 200 bucks on a remote start it would prolly triple your keyless entry range and you can trunk pop for about $40 bucks. i can get you wiring information if needed. good luck.
