99 TL - engine, TCS & ABS lights

I have a 99 TL where all the above lights came on last winter. the engine light stays on while the TCS and ABS usually are off in the morning and light up at night.

The dealer found ''code 28-2 and no continuity between the ABS/TCS control unit connector B (16P) terminal no 13 and body ground (as outlined in the DTC troubleshoot guide)''!@#. He said the ABS_TCS computer chip needed replacement. A new one is $1100, used $350; I found used at $150. I was skeptical however and only did regular maintenance.

5 mths later only the engine light is on (ABS-TCS persisted for a few weeks). Any comments?

Also, which comes first for timing belt replacement mileage or age? the car is now 7 yrs old but has 85k. The usual change is at 100k.à

thanks

No I did not replace the ECU. The problem seemed to go away on its' own, but the engine light has been on since, even after a couple of resets.
